Entirely too much focus on the drama with the catty comments and backstabbing. Regretfully, I kept watching, hoping it would get better. It did not. With the best chefs getting voted off due to strategy from lesser chefs, I had very little incentive save morbid interest to see which of the worst was the winner. The “plot twist” bringing back the two most talented chefs for redemption (voted off earlier by lesser contestants teaming up, to the approval of the biased judges) was pointless. During the final cook off Corey is verbally declared the best chef of the three by the judges, then promptly dumped down to third place, with the remaining ethnic women being first and second, the one with the biggest sob story being given the crown, despite clearly being the worst chef of the final three. She didn’t even BELONG in the final three- that should have been Preston’s spot. I walked away with the distinct feeling that being a white man was the greatest crime any chef on this show could commit, as the two best chefs happened to share these immutable traits and were downvoted for no clear reason. Please do not renew this show. I absolutely will not be watching a season two.
