The unique and profound ideology of 'Designated Survivor' was everything i'd hoped for in a modern series. The concept of an ordinary working person taking the reigns of one of the worlds super powers. Striking concept.
I'm disappointed with the 3rd series though. Its thin, it lacks it's original qualities, it's delved in to the well known and joined the Hollywood agenda of box ticking which has seen series three, too thinly tackle social political 'hot topics'.
These things are continually rammed down our throats already and although they have importance I fear that your'e diluting a very authentic and raw material.
Homophobia, trans-phobia, racism, stereotyping and sexism. The news and media is a wash with these things. Why do I need to be hit with these things in one of the only ways I am able to switch off from the over politicized world that we live in today?
