Once you get past the questionable casting choices, the standard BBC virtue signalling style of writing, a journalist character who claims to have crime victims best interests at heart, all the while not giving up key info to help police but will happily label others misogynistic and victim blamers yo support her selfish interests and the only male actors in it are characterised as 'toxic males' and dim witted youngsters.... there's a good story in there somewhere. PS the lead actress is too weak and weirdly the writers put a scene in it where a teenage girls simulates wan**ng a horse off. I guess for some that would be worth the TV licence, but not me !

Why do film makers insist on conveying 'bad guy' leading females as anything but that? What on earth are you scared of? Anna is a thief, a liar and a fraudster. Leaving her 'difficult' upbringing till the end was a poor effort to try and soften all the wrong she did. This series could have achieved so much more but instead decided to opt for the glitzy, polished, filtered and watered down version it became, with caricatures as opposed to characters. Is Hollywood that twisted with woke politics and 'equality' that it cant even create hard hitting female roles that are presented as just that? Virtue-signalling is becoming too tiresome, its making storylines thin and audiences are seeing through it.

The unique and profound ideology of 'Designated Survivor' was everything i'd hoped for in a modern series. The concept of an ordinary working person taking the reigns of one of the worlds super powers. Striking concept. I'm disappointed with the 3rd series though. Its thin, it lacks it's original qualities, it's delved in to the well known and joined the Hollywood agenda of box ticking which has seen series three, too thinly tackle social political 'hot topics'. These things are continually rammed down our throats already and although they have importance I fear that your'e diluting a very authentic and raw material. Homophobia, trans-phobia, racism, stereotyping and sexism. The news and media is a wash with these things. Why do I need to be hit with these things in one of the only ways I am able to switch off from the over politicized world that we live in today?

Such a fun, fresh series ruined by virtue signalling and modern populist media narratives. Cant writers and producers create series and films without setting up scenes with protest and activist speeches these days!?

Strong start and so much promise BUT it became a very conflicting series. Shes a bad ass gangster yet they're seemingly making her out to have ethics and morals. It just doesn't work for me. I wanted to see a bad to the bone cartel woman tearing it up but everything had a soft touch and the love interest story lasted almost three series... I mean come on. Great supporting cast and loads of potential. Just missed its goals for me.

It begins with enticement and with what looks like a really fresh African American cast i was very hopeful. My hopes were high at the unique plot, almost with hints of 'Dirty John'. Sadly as the film went on the acting, low budget and the writing all started to crumble. The character relationships all became unclear and it was as though the writer got overly excited with plot twists that just lacked ant savy thought. The ending really backs this up. I wont spoil it. 😉

I just feel its going a little too far now and its destroying what started as a phenomenal and unique modern turning point in the 'teen series' drama. Ijust cant believe the depth these new characters are embroiled in the previous plot points. Clay is becoming frustrating. His character is struggling but its a little insulting the situations hes walking in to. Jessicas role has also gone from being a reinvented strong woman back to a naive teenager making repeat mistakes. Annoying!
