Cerebral? I think not. There was nothing here that challenged my brain, just my tolerance. I don’t think OC acquitted herself well at all ; the fluctuating accent and unconvincing portentous gravitas. I hung on for dear life to the end, with the expectation that those of a higher intellect than me couldnt be wrong in the homages paid through their reviews.
Well, if the film is about anything, I don’t know what it is. If there was symbolism, I didn’t understand it and if there was any purpose at all behind this gathering of superficial stereotypes within this non-plot, it is lost on me. Unless, of course, eureka, that’s it...perhaps ’hell is other people’ and they all got themselves involved in the conundrum that is, The Lost Daughter.
