The Amazing Pete

Really not great movie. I'd gone hoping for a laugh and light entertainment as the colourful advertising has shown. Well... The light stuff is ok, but not tightly written or particularly funny if you like good banter. Then for a 12 rated movie it has quite a strong horror aspect with kids being ripped out their beds by shadow monsters. I wasn't expecting that and while it was the best acted part of the movie I really considered walking out a couple of times, as I don't find watching kids trapped and scared entertaining. As some have said the story line is shallow with a convoluted path. It tries to be funny, silly, action, emotional, romantic, dark, horrific and epic all in one. So you don't have enough time to connect in any way. Terrible film.
