I feel like this book was just made for the spicy scenes because any character development, plot, and/or world building was lacking. The plot was very predictable and the writing style very simplistic. It’s a shame because the author set up so much potential for different plot points but then did absolutely nothing with them or just moved past them without fully exploring them. While I recognize that books don’t have to be solely plot driven, it wasn’t very character driven either. None of the characters really saw any massive character arcs or improvements/changes throughout the story. And you can’t even really credit the romance storyline either because there wasn’t much development on that front as well. There was no build up to getting to know each other, just immediate sexual attraction which seemed to be the foundation of their relationship. It made it seem like the author was just rushing to get to the next spicy scene rather than developing any sort of cohesive storyline. Additionally, there were lots of character inconsistencies that made the plot points, and the main character, extremely frustrating. Overall, it was a massive disappointment and I don’t think I will pick up the the next books to read.
