This game is average. If you've come from pc, then you'll probably only enjoy this when you have literally nothing else to play.
The controls are clunky. Very clunky. They tried to cram too many controls onto the switch. The movement isn't fluid. And the game disadvantages you with how it saves the game. If you die or try to reload, you don't reload where you saved. It will be at the bottom of the mountain, or outside the building you saved in.
The story is pretty... Hollow. Maybe I don't get the references. But there's minimal voice acting and the dialogue is more for women and children. The characters also make weird anime like noises all the time. I don't really like this.
Maybe if you've played all of the games, this would be awesome. But as a new player to the franchise, the progression path isn't very easy to follow. It's open world which is cool, but there is far too much stuff to pick up and interact with.
You can easily compare it to skyrim but for children.
Bossing is difficult. The controls are just bad. They are only really good when there are no stakes. Like running across the map. Which you will do for about 30 hours. It's not fun. The map is big, and link runs slowly.
I only play this when we are away on holiday. I probably wouldn't have bought it if I had an opportunity to play it on someone's else's switch.
The game is pretty much only fun to people who have never played a good pc game in their life. Or women and children.
I have enjoyed it though. Maybe in time it will grow on me. But I wouldn't book in some time to sit down and play this.
4 stars because I think it deserves it. But it deserves many criticisms too. This game has a lot of good potential. But I think the Nintendo fans have come to expect low quality games at exorbitant prices. Only buy this if it's on sale.
