If you grew up with Noggin, you'll remember this show well. Noggin was co-founded by Sesame Workshop, so naturally they and Nickelodeon worked together to make a show specifically for Noggin. That ended up being Play with Me Sesame. It's a nice take on the Sesame characters that really engages little kids. It encourages them to move and imagine, and it uses four of the best-known Sesame Muppets as the hosts. The animated backgrounds and computer game aspects are unique among the Sesame Street franchise, and this makes sense: according to the credits, Nickelodeon Digital handled the animated elements.

This show came out when I wasn't even one year old, but I watched them all. I had a DVD with one short episode on it and some cheap plastic oobi eyes which I loved to death. I remember seeing a bag of them in a Checkers store near my house, they were R299 and I asked my mum if I could have one of them (not all, one). She said no. It is important to note that at the time my mum stopped working to take care of me and we didn't have enough money for random toys, but a few days later, my dad convinced my mum that I could have one pair of oobi eyes. So my dad took me back to Checkers.....and got me the whole bag. My mum wasn't happy. Together they cost quite a bit. I am now 17 and still own them all. Me and my dad will prove this investment was good. They are on my bed as I write this and all my friends are obsessed with making their own oobi eyes too now.

I first discovered Spongebob square pants while I was on holiday in Florida. It dawned on me when I got back to England that we could get it on Nickelodean so I started watching it all the time and loved it! It's basically a kids show although sometimes it does have some jokes that are obviously intended to go way over children's heads. And I love it for that. Loads of my friends love the show and we're all surprised that we could be so entertained by a small yellow sponge who lives in a pineapple! Oddly enough though, my favourite character is not Spongebob. I love Squidward and Plankton and their bitter bored outlook to life. They seem remarkably cynical for Nickelodean which is why this show is a breath of fresh air and hugely popular.
