incredibly uncomfortable, occasional funny, quite disturbing, a narrative with the potential for being a solid great in the area of a kaufman, but not quite, not quite hitting that. although Cage excels in the odd comedic horror role. requires a rewatch - but i would want to fast forward the awful fart scene which hinges the film toward its darker path. the dream device sequence doesn’t quite work - could have been hemmed up a little
more or dropped in more subtly to land better. again, overall, cage was very very good and the talking heads sing at the end also redeems the film.
