I’m sorry, but I don’t see the massive appeal. How is it changing pro wrestling? By simply not being WWE? Interesting since all their biggest stars are former WWE wrestlers just under different names. Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks being the exception of course (but they still made it big in other companies). Jim Ross is on commentary, which is great but not new. How can you really change pro wrestling anymore? They put wrestling over story development which is cool but so does NXT, and they have better wrestling and more organic story progression. AEW have some amazing talent and great production values but it’s just a different, oh I’m sorry “alternative”, wrestling show. It’s not bad, just nothing revolutionary. Nice for people who don’t like WWE. It’s always good to have more companies for people to work. But aside from a couple of big names, no real reason to tune in unless your burnt out on other, arguably better companies. I also kinda hate how people have been saying there’s finally an alternative to WWE. Okay so Impact, Ring of Honor and New Japan never happened huh? I’ll watch it occasionally but it’s not a priority for me. I’ll be on USA every Wednesday watching NXT instead.
