Although the language is somewhat patronising (especially to the courageous young indigenous women whom he calls “girls”!) nonetheless it is a fascinating snapshot of a moment when the native Americans were in flux, between their traditions and “integration”. A must read for anyone interested in the history of protest, indigenous rights and if you want a blueprint of how to resist the insanity of corporate hegemony.
