Reminded me (although I didn't see it until later) of my Peace Corps experience in Kenya in the late 1960s. We had several hundred sheep to shear each year on the 2 large scale co-ops that I managed. We used a 5 or 6 person shearing team from the KFA (Kenya Farmers Assn.) to shear the sheep, but didn't have electricity. So the shearing all had to be be done with hand shears.
