Spoiler-Free review.
Where do I begin? This seemingly cute-little game has got me hung up on it’s story for MONTHS after playing it.
The story is amazing. The story will make you smile, make you angry, and (will definitely) make you sad. The story has incredible depth to it and I somehow always discover an aspect about the game’s story every now and then even though i’ve played through it 3 times. The ending is PERFECT and will leave you speechless and ambivalent. The story slowly builds you up to absolutely BREAK you down in the best way possible.
The main character (Omori) is the most unique protagonist ive ever seen and has tons of layers of depth to him. Even some of the other characters have a lot of depth to them despite them not having particularly much screen time.
The artstyle is also unique and incredibly charming. The artsyle coveys emotion so incredibly smooth—it’s admiring.
The music is wonderful. It fits beautifully fits the atmosphere in the game like a jigsaw puzzle while also being enjoyable to listen to on your playlist. The battle music (especially the boss music) is incredible and certainly a highlight in the OST.
Really, I only have minor critics about the game; the gameplay is SLIGHTLY repetitive, maybe like 2 or 3 parts of the game are slightly boring, but’s thats really about it.
I cannot recommend it enough— play the game. It would be FAR better if you experienced this game knowing little as possible before going into it. (So careful looking deep into this game before youre done so you dont get spoiled!).
Even if you don’t particularly like RPG games, I would still recommend it if you like a game with a good story.
