I’ve played Resident Evil 1, 2, 4, 5, and 7 and in my honest opinion, it’s a good game. Not great, but good. The story was okay, gameplay was a little different and paved the way to Resident Evil 2 Remake. Those who are critical about the game are entitled to their opinion, but most I’ve read said it doesn’t have as much horror as they would have liked. Resident Evil as a franchise is both action and horror. Some having more horror elements than the other such as Resident Evil 7 and comparing it to Resident Evil 5. Heck, Resident Evil 4 was more of a 90s action mixed in with a little horror and it’s one of the greatest games of all time. It had corny moments but it worked really well. So, if you want horror, I would recommend RE7. RE6 went in a different direction, and focusing on the action/arcade aspect of the franchise. It’s a good game with incredible visuals. There are some negative things about the game I would mention but that’s a whole different post. Overall I would give it a 3.5 out of 5.
