Ummmm...no. Just no. I was such a big fan of the original so had high hopes for a new series with more stories about Raylan but what a LET DOWN! There was a vulgarity to the first two episodes that turned my stomach. Just so unnecessary and felt over the top. I get we're in a different state and there is no past connections or history with the people/town, etc, but that was one of the best things about the original. Even not liking the "bad guys" of Boyd, etc., somehow there was still a charm and humor about them and the series. Not here. Before, we felt drawn in by Raylan and the history he had with the people he knew. Here, it feels forced and strange with him being stuck working on this case he has no connection to. And where is any witty dialogue and the typical droll demeanor of Raylan? What happened to the writing? There used to be such humor! Not so much anymore.
And I feel terrible saying this but the daughter is just absolutely dreadful. Can't act. Painful to watch her and so you don't care what happens to her character. Not to mention what daughter of a law enforcement officer would knowingly go traipsing through slums in a city she's unfamiliar with without thinking she could get herself into some kind of peril? Just stupid.
Okay I'm done. If I could have given this a half a star I would have.
