I am not sure what all the Negativity is about. I'm 12 hours in and loving this game. It's been a long time since I got into a star wars game like this. The story has been great and the characters aren't cringe or anything. The action is pretty good and there's so much customization and exploring. This is probably the closest thing we will get to a GTA/Red Dead esc star wars game. I also think the era it's set in is perfect for a gritty open world criminal underworld game. If you were like me and let the Negativity reviews keep you from this game... don't. You're only missing out one of the better star wars contents to come out in recent years. It is as good if not better than Jedi Survivor.
