So many predictable tropes, very kid-like and not for all audiences. Pushed brand consumerism and blatant advertising. Flat characters, no memorable villain. At no point did I know where the plot was going. No clear goal in mind, felt like someone with ADD wrote the plot. Very generic. I noticed some "jokes" were drawn out for ridiculous amounts of time just to add to the runtime for the movie. The main "story" could've been told in 30 minutes easily. Odie was the only likeable character in my opinion. It featured flat, overused slapstick humor, which didn't compliment the aura of garfield at all. Character relevance was ridiculous. Nobody knows who the one fluffy white cat is and why she wanted revenge, like yeah we get it you got caught in a heist and vic left you, but that's it? I really was bored about 20 minutes in and was tempted to scroll on my phone IN THE THEATRE. ive never felt the need to do that with any other movie I've watched. I really was disappointed in this movie and I'm more sad about it than anything. I like garfield but all the hype let me down. Will not watch again, do not recommend.
