**Spoiler Alert! Don't read on if you want to keep the surprises intact!**
I was totally captivated by this game but also left a bit disappointed. I played through it three times. The gameplay was smooth and exhilarating.
But here’s where it got a little tricky for me: the story. I really wanted to see St. John break free from his past and embrace new beginnings. The message seemed to navigate in that direction—cherish those around you and move forward together. I felt like Jess should’ve taken that leap too.
I was rooting for St. John to realize that the love he was searching for was right there with him all along—his brother and his friends. It felt like the story was leading us to that moment, and I was so ready for it, but it didn't come to fruition. I was a little disney for me that St. John and Jess found one another again, and left me confused. Why so much metaphoria for appreciating what you have and cherishing it? It would have been so cool if he found her again but she had moved on. I feel this would have really solidified the essence of what they were building.
Anyway, it's not enough to say I still didn't thoroughly enjoy this game, because I did.
