As an Italian American whose family immigrated from Naples, My Brilliant Friend has spoken to me from Elena’s first words. I have watched and rewatched every episode over and over. Each time I do I discover something new that pulls me deeper into this masterpiece. The characters are beautifully developed, the cinematography masterful, the music haunting and the acting superb.
