As family my kids were nuts about this game and we played it too, admittedly years ago. Having said that they still play it as late teens. So we had to go and see it together. My expectations were low. But just being in the world was cool for me again. And the grumpy teens liked it too. Have no idea what you would think of it had you never played the game. The little kids in our screening LOVED IT. Their parents could barely contain them. A big tick from me.

If you know a lot about Maria Callas like me, don't go and see this film. So much they get wrong or make up. Its a tragedy that Callas will probably be remembered for the myths in this movie than her incredible life and singing. They seem to buy into every falsehood to give the story drama. I wish I had never watched it. Ave Maria.

Laura Lipmann should sue. They have turned a very good book into a pretentious mess. The Director should never be let loose on a movie again. It turns into so many pointless sequences and unnecessary exposition pieces that I am guessing many viewers just give up. Who cares what is happening? Just watch something else. Its a great shame because with the same actors and art direction but better writing and direction which FOLLOWS THE STORY it could have been really good.
