There are not enough adjectives to describe how intensely I disliked the new Perry Mason Show. How can you take the character of Perry Mason and besmirch his reputation and virtually everything else about him? The writers of this new show must be unaware that decent people do exist with morals, integrity and a desire to seek justice? The depraved person the writers created have no relation to the character Perry Mason, so why has his named been used? Why not create your own new character if you wanted a hedonistic, self-gratifying, narcissist to star in your new show? Why usurp the name of Perry Mason? It makes no sense and in addition to that, the seedy, ugly Los Angeles that is depicted bears no resemblance to the real Los Angeles of the 1930’s. Los Angeles was new and crisp in those days, not old London! I realize a certain degree of graphic violence is employed as the de rigueur for action shows, but revulsion is not one of them. Shock appeal must further the telling of a story, not create a splatter film and call it Perry Mason. Is there a way to take you to court for this? Do you mind letting me know how I can contact the sole child of Mr. Erle Stanley Gardner to join in with the prosecution of this case and get you to cease and desist in using the name Perry Mason Show? Please let me know as soon as possible.
