Spoiler alert. For those that don’t get this movie you may have a different opinion once you understand the actual plot. At first I found the storyline confusing but that is because it actually depicts the struggles of drug addiction combined with mental illness. The plot takes lots of twists and turns as schizophrenia does to your thoughts. It can make people delusional not knowing what is real and what is not. Once I recognized that Wilson’s character was having a psychotic break it made sense and it became all the more emotional for me. Knowing people with schizophrenia I feel it’s pretty accurate as to the types of issues that they can be confronted with. Owen Wilson was amazing in this role. I think it’s his finest work.
