I was hesitant to watch this as I’m a big fan of LOTR. I was worried about “wokeness” or appropriation or whatever you want to call it, ruining it. I really don’t think it has. Yes it is diverse racially and maybe that might not make much sense to have people with different climate caused evolutionary traits living all together in a world who’s transportation abilities would not facilitate that yet. But the audience lives in the real world and people like to see themselves represented in their entertainment, so I think that surpasses scientific accuracy. Lots of strong women characters but have not noticed any man bashing or anti religious undertones yet. I guess time will tell. I’m hopeful the rest of the series will be like this. Diverse without tearing anyone else down. Works for me. Would like to see more of Galadriels sorceress side come out instead of being all sword. Not a lore expert by any means, been literal decades since I’ve read the books. Can’t speak to that aspect of it. The visuals are stunning, best ever for tv imo. Story is interesting and kept me wanting more. Not really a fan of the Harfoots but to be fair wasn’t much of a fan of Hobbits either lol. Like I said, hopefully it doesn’t devolve into the garbage that most stuff is out there today, fingers crossed. Worth a watch imo.

I’m gay and yes this is typical Hollywood wokeness at work here. You can’t help but notice it anymore. Could have been good but as others have said seems they wanted to push an agenda rather than entertain. It’s like the polar opposite of 70 years ago. Literally. Anti socialist, white housewives dusting in pearls dutifully awaiting their husbands arrival vs. anti capitalist, multi ethnic, man hating lesbians. Thanks but I’ll pass on both. And seriously what’s so bad about a fairy tale ending once in awhile? Jeez. Guess that may ruin their “we’re killing the planet”end of the world narrative they push to keep people in fear. (Just like Christian’s do with revelations) And the sad thing is a women who wants a Prince Charming or to be taken care of by a man is looked down upon. And ironically straight men are more free to be sensitive and taken care of by a women, among other things, since the rigid ideas of masculinity have been relaxed. Sorry just realized I’m not actually reviewing the show lol but ranting. But that is what goes through my mind the whole time I’m watching it. Just keep picking apart all the changed things that didn’t need to be in an already inclusive work of fiction .

Not the worst movie ever but very far from good. Beautiful CGI like most stuff these days. Anti-religious undertones are obvious to anyone with an IQ above room temperature. Story and characters felt jumbled but at least they’ve checked all the woke boxes. Can tell this movie was filmed pre pandemic because there’s actually a blonde character. There was a few good shots of Kit Harington’s butt in tight pants. That was probably the best thing about this movie. “Eternals will be back” at end of credits felt more like a threat than a promise.

Nothing about this movie was as good as the first two. Felt like a completely different movie. The soundtrack, which was a fun part of the first two, felt very off in this one. More proof that Hollywood is in the midst of a dark age.
