YOU GUYS ARE GOING TO HATE THIS, But when we were at an Aquarium about 4 years ago we were told that the SPINES on the California Horned Shark are very Deceptive, as the TOP SPINE is mainly used as a PREVENTATIVE
so they WILL NOT get crushed by someone foot, and the TAIL SPINE is the ONLY ONE that is carrying the VENOM (like a Sting Ray)!
I wonder if it's the SAME for Port Jackson' Shark
