Utterly disappointing. This series is a follow-up yo the "Love, Simon" movie, which I rather enjoyed and found original. Love, Victor is in fact a Love, Simon movie in a series format. While the series is about 5 hours vs. 1h30 for the movie, it does not use all the extra time to develop the characters, be creative, provide captivating points of view etc. Instead, it wastes most of the time with utterly useless dialogues / situations (a kid has to pee, what mascara to choose...), or irrelevant arc stories about characters who are unrelated to the topic (a gay teenager tries to find out and accept his sexuality, then comes out). And after forcing tons of useless scenes / dialogues, one crucial part is cut at the end of the series: the family's reaction to his coming out. Are you kidding? The reactions of various characters to the fact that this guy is gay, including his straight neighbour, is hardly credible. Even the "bully" is kind and accepting. This makes fairy tales look like realistic depictions of our world. Finally, this also proves Disney's hypocrisy in its supposed support of LGBT. This series was initially destined to be on Disney+ (hence the overly all is fine tone), but Disney decided at the end it was too much, and moved it to Hulu.
