Wow. Wow. Wow. I picked it up at the library today, hesitant as it didn’t look like the type of book I would normally read, I started reading and couldn’t put it down. From the very start, the experience of Suad really resonated with me. I saw in her, a piece of myself (ironic given that I am a 17-year-old boy). I recently suffered a breakup, and much like Suad, I felt out of place, alone, unneeded and unable to find purpose.
This story demonstrates that you can truly find purpose even in the most grave of circumstances and that it can often be found by embracing those around you. I thought it was a beautiful short story and I am so glad that I read it.
I have always been a very practical reader, I read to learn about history or philosophy; rarely to experience, and even more rarely - fiction. Never before has a book made me feel the emotions I felt through this book and against my pride I may have shed a tear or two at the ending. Thank you for such a touching story, I would recommend it thoroughly to anybody.
