Grade: C- The good stuff: 1. The villain POV is interesting. 2. The cinematography is excellent. 3. The practical effects are well done. The bad stuff: 1. The acting & script are fairly poor quality and the premise is nothing new. I suspect this was all intentional in homage to its predecessors but, even so, made it a slog to watch. 2. The film just isn't that interesting. I was nodding off through the two most infamous scenes. 3. I did not find the dread or suspense that others did. 4. There are pacing and editing errors that plague the two infamous scenes, diminishing both. Overall, it was an attempt at an updated take on the slasher genre that failed to land with me. Glad I watched it for myself, but feel no need to watch this again.
