Sadly I never watched the original nor read rhe books (if im not mistaken the movies are based off of books?) So I am unable to compare it to the originals. However I must say I was not disappointed, starts out a little slow and doesn't start to get really action packed until the later half 3/4th of the movie but hey they gotta settle stage up for sequels right??? Definitely worth a watch in theaters as the sounds and overall experience is a big must for any sci-fi enthusiasts young or old!!!
