It was a decent movie with a good plot and acting. I enjoyed it.
The main reason for posting this review is in rebuttal to posts I have read for this movie and other, similar type, movies. There has been criticism that the woman beat up two guys and got away... stating that not only is this unrealistic, but the "women's power" movement is ruining films.
I laugh at these statements because almost all action, adventure, escape, torture, ect. films are unrealistic, whether the protagonist is a man or a woman. Is the "man's power" movement ruining movies?
Can a small woman beat up two men? Most likely no, but neither can a small man likely beat up two men. Yet Hollywood churns out "Road House," "Expendables" and "John Wick" movies and makes 100s of millions even though everyone knows (or should know) that they are unrealistic.
If "Rust Creek" was "realistic" what kind of movie would it be? Would anyone, besides a few depraved individuals, actually want to watch a movie about a woman stranded in the middle of nowhere with two men that appear to be ready to harm her? That is usually referred to as a snuff film. No, I think most people want to see the person, a female in this movie, get away. In a real situation, the person (man or woman) would most likely end up dead...or something else horrible.
No thanks...I prefer these unrealistic films to what would happen in a realistic situation. If you want something else, you probably shouldn't even bother watching movies or TV.
