I believe that Disney should have cast either someone with no accent at all or a French accent for the part of Belle and absolutely NO auto-tuning of Belles voice. If she can’t sing to the point where it “sounds like the beloved belle” than choose someone who can. I love Emma Watson, especially in Harry Potter, but I firmly believe she was hired on for her name alone to star in what could have been one of the best live action Disney Princess films of all time. In my opinion the recent “Little Mermaid” was cast much better and the voices and changes they made from the original enhanced the film rather than distracted from the direction the producers wanted “Beauty and the Beast” to go in. It should have captivated me from the start but I couldn’t get past the wrong voicing and auto-tuning of my favorite character “Belle”. Overall, the character development and additional songs were creative and intriguing and while I don’t think it’s an awful movie, it’s not a 5 star.

The music was traditional enough but also creative enough. I loved the additions and the voicing. Job well done on the casting and character development. Bravissimo Walt Disney! I am so glad I watched it. Overall better than the ordinal cartoon.
