i really wanted this to be good. it’s awful. i’m a huge idris fan but this was horrible all around especially the kids. they show no sense of urgency or fear in the movie as they constantly leave the vehicle while a lion is stalking them. during the duration of the attacks and being inside vehicle they complain about being hot and thirsty and “is this all the water we have?” etc they see a grown man whom they call “uncle” who grew up in africa get mauled by a lion and he had a tranquilizer gun and it didn’t help HIM yet the oldest teen daughter says: i’ll come get you stay there! well he can’t walk so… and during the time their father is literally in the middle of fighting this lion his daughter says in a very nonchalant tone “dad get the gun back it’s right there” as if she is saying something like i wonder what time it is? with NO sense of fear or urgency or voice trembling or shaking etc not a worry in the world with these actors. this was just such a very very baddddd movie. idk HOW it scored so high with rotten tomatoes? now looking at critics and certain sites i now know which ones i’ll go to for honest reviews because this should have showed LOW scores all across the board. it’s THAT BAD. i was sooooo excited to watch it and after the first 10 mins into the film… you already know. terrible plot with horrible acting. awful script. lion takes out every single person in the village but each time one of the teenagers run out of the car they survive. i mean seriously? none of it makes sense at all.
