Ronald Reagan once said “those who say there are no modern heroes, they just don’t know where to look.” After watching this movie, that was the first thing that came to my mind. I had always thought firefighting was a fun job, until I saw the difficulty and sacrifices so many made just to protect peoples property. My grandfather died when I was just a year old fighting a California wildfire. I never truly met him. I was told that the cause of death was a malfunctioning fire tent. When I saw this movie, it gave me a more clear picture on how good of a man he must have been to sacrifice himself for a state all the way across the country. This movie does a great job showing everything that I believe everyone older than the age of 13 needs to see. People need more respect for firefighters. If anyone is looking for another movie similar to this one, “Ladder 49” is literally this movie but a urban fire department. Highly recommend watching “Only the Brave.”
