What a pleasant surprise to participate in-and the viewer, indeed, is lured into this drama-a character study and story, fashioned by a script so terse and direction so clean, that an hour of it flashes as if a moment. The actors generously inhabit the characters, lending rawness and compassion. Rarely is film this immersive or intense.
