I'm on episode 5 of 8 and I've not stopped cringing yet. The female characters can only have been written by a man with a small brain and no idea about women. It's pure sexism. The main female character is hysterical and irrational. She talks about inappropriate topics whilst in a professional setting. I've never seen a woman announce to their entire office that they've been dumped. This is supposedly a 38 year old professional woman. And the younger colleague of hers that she begins the series berating continuously becomes her lover. And then she turns into a crazy person with trust issues who attacks other women for glancing in his direction when she's only slept with him once or twice. It's weird behaviour. Can we just agree that the vast majority of women don't behave remotely like this? The other women; one is a liar who slept with her psychologist, one is a drunk, one is a Quaker with a promiscuous history, and one is an incompetent German detective who introduces her colleague as being gay as if that's remotely relevant or appropriate to mention in a professional setting. Anyone who knows anything about German police would probably not portray them as incompetent quacks. It's a dreadfully written series. Police dramas are usually our forte in this country, so this one is just embarrassing. Why did Lesley Sharp ever agree to this? It's offensive honestly. Where are the relatable female characters?
I'm not sure I'll even finish it. Do I care enough about the conclusion to put myself through it? Probably not.
