Be prepared because this movie won’t be what you are expecting. It’s not the Elton John version of Queen. It’s really not a biopic. I am not sure what to say other than I think it is Grease meets The Doors meets Bohemian Rhapsody. Taron Egerton is amazing but the musical scenes felt awkward and at times cringeworthy. It was hard to go from a hardcore homosexual sex scene to a fantasy, light-hearted musical, dancing in the street scene. I love Elton, and I have been to many of his concerts all around the World but don’t go to this movie thinking you will get to know him.
