The movie at first I thought was boring and lame. But since I am a fan of history and autobiography I tried watching til it ends. All the while I thought, the history was commercialized in this movie because of the presence of Piolo Pascual but in the latter it shows the authentic patriotism of the Filipinos, risking lives for freedom and justice. I searched for the characters of Paciano Mercado and Felipe Buencamino and I realized that the real patriot in Rizal's Family was Paciano. And I wonder what happened to the change of heart in Buencamino because in the movie Heneral Luna, he was one of the mastermind in the killings. I am also searching for the character of the servant in friars dining that later become one of the Katipuneros I am not sure if it was Bonifacio. I cried for the bravery of Burgos and emphaty of Paciano.. and how the scene affects young Jose Rizal. Overall, it is a must see movies. Perfect for research reference.
