Pleasant surprise! Here's a rundown about my own take on it: I've been playing games for a good while and I'm kinda sick of story games because they almost always follow cliches and seem predictable. I do not pay any mind to the story of this game, and I don't really see it as an attention grabber. If you like the Xenomorph universe, and you don't care for an elaborate story and just want a fun game to play by yourself or with a buddy, this is it. After completing the first two missions on standard, here's all the pros and cons I've found so far: Pros: - The guns feel fun without being op (overpowered) or weak - Doesn't feel hard, but it has it's moments where you need to focus up - Graphics are solid - I feel like a god when I just rain bullets down a hallway Cons: - Story is meh (granted I'm not focused on it much, so take that with a grain of salt) - Gears of War esc cover system feels pretty redundant when it is way easier to survive by being mobile - Objectives and missions (so far) feel bland and uninspired Out of 10, I'd give it a 6.5 for what it is.

Fun to watch but way to predictable. The director dropped clues everywhere and none of them were subtle. Right from the start you can suspect whats up, and it isn't at all far fetched. From just the movie title, to how Beverly acts. Whether you believe the guys are the killers or the girls, its still really cliche. I havent even finished it yet and this is what I predict: Beverly is going to defect, the other two girls are going to go through with it fully, maybe one of the guys survives, but def not Mark. The convenience store guy might make a return. The pastor is going to play a larger role at some point. I like the movie, but it was really easy to guess what was going to happen.

The thing that I loved about this movie was that there weren't any cheap jump scares or anything that'd make anyone hop up in fear. That being said, this movie used its camera angles to make you put your guard down and then right when everything seems calm, subtle changes strike you with fear. (I'm largely referring to the brief uphill walking scene with the debarked tree). Before writing this I looked at some other reviews, mostly the negative, and it had me irritated. Some people said this movie was boring, and frankly I couldn't disagree more. As someone who loves a well constructed horror, hates jumpscares, loves beautifully creepy settings, and interesting plots with even more interesting antagonists, this movie is FAR from boring. Maybe it is just me but for anyone who likes what I listed above, this movie will not disappoint. !!!SPOILER WARNING!!! Moments before the end of the movie Luke is seen screaming at the Jotunn and some of the people who wrote reviews are saying that it is overall ridiculous and funny with the idea that screaming "defeats" the Jotunn. That is not the case. After re-watching it I have interpreted that the Jotunn gives up on chasing Luke and essentially lets him escape. Luke screaming at it didn't defeat it, it gave up and he finally escaped and let out some anger at the thing because it killed his friends. Plus he did bury a hatchet into its 'head'.

Fresh after watching it, I can say with tempered confidence that this movie was quite mediocre. I may be biased because I grew up on JP so take what I say with a grain of salt. (SPOILERS AHEAD) Pros: - Return of Jurassic Park characters - Cool new dinosaurs that are showcased - A few nods to the original trilogy that were nice to have - The terror in some scenes felt very tense (Therizinosaurus scene) - Fun movie, made me smile a lot Cons: - Not great closure with some of the characters, felt half baked and uninspired - Predictable dinosaur fights and encounters - (I get it’s a movie) Scientific inaccuracy. Giganotosaurs is not pronounced “Giga note-o saurus” it’s pronounced “Ji-gan-otosaurus” because it’s gigantic. Also it was not the biggest carnivore to ever exit, Spinosaurus holds that title, which is never acknowledged. (Give Spino some love) (Also I get Spino has been changed a lot in science) - New characters feel really bland and the motivation felt really unclear and dumb - Old characters lacked some personality Owen is just a macho, wrangler dino guy, Claire has a motherly instinct now, Maisie I think it was, was super uninteresting. - There’s a dumb comparison between Blue and Beta, and Charlotte and Maisie. - T Rex is still “The King” or whatever (predictable ending) Overall, a poor close to the series (I think?) and the JW movies were always sort of that way. If you like dinosaurs and/or you are an old fan, you’ll have fun. Just… delicately measure your expectations. My hopes were high, but my expectations were meh. I was right to think so.
