What humanity, ecology, poetry, strength and insight! What an extraordinary man. If I was a lecturer, this book would be on my reading list for all my environmental, ecology, sociology, history and geology courses. This man is a hero of the great outdoors, reporting on the beauties and intricacies of what man has overlooked and, in the main, now destroyed. I challenge you to find out about his legacies in the USA and about the John Muir Trust in the UK.
