The "baddies" were so obvious that no one would have been taken in by them. You would just have made your excuses and left or, even better, told them to do one.
As for Ajay, no one would go near him, what a creep.
In real life they must have had more credibility, surely.
Most of the characters don't ring true. The closest to "normal" is the Begian Attache.
Are all back packers so gullible? God help them.
