I'm enjoying the show. It has a beautiful production value and a slow burning pace that portends the ultimate discovery of what is happening. The better part of the season follows several disparte characters in different parts of the globe who experience the unfolding alien invasion by experiencing the aftermath, without any clear information as to what happened or what is going on. The show clearly is taking its time. That said, I'd like to see the characters archs leading somewhere more defined, as we are on epidosde 8 and people still seem to be scratching their heads.

Series bears little to no resemblance to the superior source material. They took the premise, threw in a few main character names from the books, and then tried to cross pollinate it with Star Trek Discovery with GoT-light. What you are left with is an updated "reinterpretation" of a classic series of novels that falls far short of the name it proclaims.
