This game does something a sequel should always try to do: depart from the original. This isn't Joel's story, and it never claimed to be. You're free to like or dislike the game and it's story, but to hate on the creators and act like Joel was a real person and not a work of fiction is muddying the lines is completely missing the "constructive" part of constructive criticism. There are things to criticize about this game. That doesn't mean insult the creators like they did anything wrong. They tried a different route for the sequel, and if you don't like it, then that's fine. You liked the original, it's still there, and you can replay it all you want. This is a different game, with a different story, with a different protagonist. If you don't like where the game takes the narrative, don't play it. You can criticize what you didn't like, but to belittle the people who made it is like seeing someone make a piece of art that you like, then they make another piece of art that takes aspects of that original piece but change it to the point where you don't like it, then go on to say that the artist is an idiot with no good ideas and they should just stop making art. That is a ridiculous reaction to a completely different story. You are free to like the first piece better, and even hate the second one, but to put the blame on the artist for making something YOU didn't like is completely outlandish.
