I had high hopes for this book, given all the hype surrounding it, but unfortunately, it fell short in many areas. While the story had a lot of potential and could have been truly engaging, the execution just didn’t hit the mark. The writing tries too hard to be deep, which often feels cringey rather than thoughtful. This detracts from the strength of the plot and distracts from the overall narrative.
The twist was incredibly predictable. Trust me, if you read thoroughly, you’ll see it coming from the start. And when a twist is so easy to anticipate, it completely undermines the entire reading experience, and unfortunately, that was the case here.
In the end, this book has its moments, but it doesn’t live up to the buzz. I’m left wondering what it could’ve been with a bit more subtlety and a lot less forced "depth."
