It was about as good as expected. I found the big issue for me was that the “hero” made way too many stupid choices and wound up in a… let’s say “sexy coed that decides to run through the cemetery in lingerie, alone to escape the murderer” dynamic for me. If the protagonist makes to make stupid decisions it really easy to shift from “let’s hope (s)he wins/escapes/prevails” to “yah. I don’t care what happens now” mindset and it makes feeling invested in the outcome far more complicated. That aside, it’s has a real… spy kids feel to it too; a very strong “my family found gadgets and helped out to all help save the day” vibe. I don’t hate that it’s in my brain but I could have done without. Not bad but not anything amazing. It will never become a cult favourite or be accused of having been underrated.
