The book does not list an editor or acknowledge assistance of a reviewer -- and it shows. There are numerous grammatical errors, some math errors, and awkward construction of information. In the description of Explosions, he says the explosion of an atomic bomb travels 542 meters (about a third of a mile) in one second, and takes 10 seconds to travel .85 miles. Then, it takes about 85 seconds to travel 2 miles. absurd! In explaining the cone of a shock wave, he relates the speed of sound to ground level and only later describes how it is actually related to temperature and how temperature is related to altitude. He never mentioned air density. In describing a hurricane and how to calculate the maximum expected wind speed, he used an example of a hurricane with a wind speed of 20 mph. A storm is not classified as a hurricane until it reaches a wind speed of 74 mph. These errors are in just the first 22 pages. The topics covered are extensive and interesting, but I wouldn't buy the book until it has been edited and the errors corrected.
