I would never have watched it. But looking at the stellar cast (Glenn Close, for god's sake) and wanting some light hearted entertainment after a good day's work I thought: why not give this a try instead of rewatching a nice sitcom for the umpteenth time. Boy, was I wrong!
I'm guessing that some "Sex and the City "esc tone was intended, some bits of dialogue could have been in one of those films. But the funny and empowering messages from the series were completely missing from this heaping, steaming pile of poopoo. It's just images of very expensive stuff and almost baroque style overpainted/overcoiffed people with comically bad - but unfortunately still completely unfunny - dialogue. Some 20 minutes before the end of episode 1 I made a promise to myself to finish it and give it a fair chance. I honestly barely made it through. The female characters in this show are so unlikable, to me, at least, so calculating and obsessed with money, shallow.
I wouldn't have expected anything different from something with the name Kardashian attatched to it, and as I say, never have watched it. But with Naomi Watts, Glen Close, Sarah Paulson in there... I kinda feel scammed now.
P. S. I feel so scammed that I saw the obligation to my fellow humans to leave this - my very first, and I am no spring chicken, no siree - media review.
