This was possibly the worst book I've ever read. The plot was weaker than my grandma trying to open a jar of pickles. "Who reads their insurance policy?" Uh, anyone who has ever signed up for insurance? Every nurse in the book is a jerk. The main character is incensed when he has to wait three hours in the ER... like, dude, have you ever been to a hospital? And he takes his daughter to the freaking ER when she has a 100.8 fever??! By that standard, anyone with a kid would spend 95% of their life in the hospital! Although he is clearly not Dad of the Year, since he seems to think spending an hour reading to/hanging out with his kid is a huge deal and he leaves his young daughter a few hours after her mom dies. Yikes! And geez, we get it, healthcare costs in the US are screwed up. The entire plot of the book is the main character repeating that fact over and over to various people. The dialogue is stilted and the ending unbelievable. I would not recommend this book to my worst enemy. Do yourself a favor and read your insurance policy instead of this book, because it will be equally as entertaining.
