So what? It was added. The premise being added didn't detract anything from the storyline and it made the movie unique.
I bet no one would be saying anything if she was avenging her male lover.
I guess people can't stomach a strong female lead either, especially when she doesn't subvert to societal expectations.
I loved the fact that there was no over the top "masala" and the story felt quite down to earth and realistic.
Personally, this movie is one of the first in a long time that has kept me on the edge of my seat in a long time. Kudos to the director and the rest of the team.
