This book is okay. It's severely lacking in character development and plot. The first half of the book drags, and then things start happening towards the conclusion all at once.
I found the main character Jude rather irritating. Her constant back and forth of loving and not loving her "foster" dad who murdered her parents made me want to scream to get over it and pick one either you love him as a father or you don't.
The cruel prince Cardan we barely know or understand throughout the whole book, and the book was named after him. He could have been completely removed from the story and it wouldn't have changed all that much Jude had more interaction with Locke and Valerian then Cardan. Who is written as a weak, pathetic character literally that's how she described the main male lead of the book who wants that's ?? The world building is sufficient.
