I do wonder if the better known, and respected members of the cast knew what it was they were being drawn into. I also can imagine them cringing when or if they ever watched the final cut. Disjointed, amateurish with multi scenarios that simply stayed as that, never being brought together. A rogue policeman successfully framed for a murder by a colleague when said policeman was in police custody at the time - never heard of forensics or autopsies? Was the policeman's wife poisoning their teenage daughter? We will never know. What did the party in the woods have to do with the main story. Come to think of it, what was the main story? I am not sure if anyone knew - from the writer to the director. I am afraid there is nothing in this offering that anyone involved can take any pride from being involved.

The characters are all larger than life, every episode contains a plot that is superbly original. A refreshingly different type of crime series, with emotion, comedy and intrigue intertwined. As a previous reviewer commented, dubbing the films with English rather than the subtitles would lose the athenticity and charm of the production. The 'Young Montalbano' is also a must to watch - brilliant!
