This is one of the most important books I have ever read. The author is a genuine genius and truthfully portrays the world of patriarchal bigots, the sentiments of fine refined warm folk and the ability to overcome diversity in the worse circumstance. She depicts the times in all its narrow negative forms and she gives us an undaunted heroine. One who would have, who will and who does inspire work that is worthy, thoughs that r lofty and kindness that is essential in today’s cut throat world . Hail to thee and thy sights- may u continue to gain the strength to teach us all

Absolutely brilliant in the arena of depicting the positive power of the human heart, as yet untainted, but deeply unrealistic otherwise. No servant can b so loyal or unerring. Though he seeks to bring to light existing social conditions Appointing such single mindedly powerful characteristics to the rich and the poor in general is in extreme. Adiga’s romantic notions have made way for a great story but to categorise so adamantly has created a backdrop that might do more harm than good. Which then questions the role of literature and the effect it has on its readers. Might the characters lead their audience towards doom ?

The White Tiger

Tho the intention is noble the execution is bilious. A longwinded book which is unable to get the point across. Did this book get kudos ? For what? I was bored wading through the pages filled with a pathetic lost mother - and the children’s behaviour - yuck - so mundane and tedious descriptions of mil and a husband who could not meet the standards- absolutely uninspiring and utterly useless- I spent too much time over rubbish -trying to find meaningful paragraphs that would highlight the situation of the endangered butterflies- and life itself- on earth -
