Pretentious, melodramatic vampire porn. You keep waiting for it to get better, but it never does. Boring.

If you've seen at least three superhero movies made within the last five years, then you've already seen this movie. It can't decide whether it wants to be Venom, Shazam, or MCU Spiderman- but then fails to grasp what made those movies good. It wants to be funny, but the humor falls flat. It wants to have dramatic moments, but those are mediocre at best. None of the characters are as interesting, unique, or intriguing as they could be- the same (boring) quirky characters as most other modern superhero movies with a new coat of paint. CGI is okay, but nothing to give praise to coming from one of the "big five" studios. I liked the soundtrack. The story is proof that AI could 100% replace hollywood writers if this is the best a table of humans came up with- so formulaic, predictable, and cliche I would totally believe that it was forged from data sets. I thought Xolo Maridueña (the main actor) did a good job- if only he was given more time and space to shine amid being suffocated by his less talented co-actors. I'd give it 2.5 stars if I could. Its not "so bad it makes you angry" like some other recent movies, but it's barely mediocre.
